New Void Infinite V2 range now in.

Been waiting a while but its worth it! The Version 2 of Void acoustics range of amplifiers has just been released. For this series, Void's head design engineer Rog Mogale went back to the Drawing board to refine the Series further, the amplifiers were designed to be stable at 2 Ohm's and put through rigorous testing to thermal extreme's A new power supply was put together across the range to ensure that when the amplifier was driven under varying mains voltages the amplifier would cope. The 4 and 5 are Ideal for Mid/High and Monitor applications whilst the 6 was designed to versatile in that it can cover Bass to High end duty whilst the Infinite 8 was designed for a no comprimise bass amp. Biodiesel Generator

Vegen, whats it all about? Well a couple of years ago I was trying to hire a bio diesel generator to run the Thornborough Festival's main stage PA, lighting, and the site lighting. The nearest one I could find was 200 miles away, so I decided to experiment with my own, after a lot of reading up with regards to which engine would be suitable, the pro's and con's of bio diesel and an extensive eBay search, I found a Pharmac which had a Yanmar 2 litre marine deisel engine, which was a very good bet, according to an American University's testing. It is towable and reasonably easy to move about, and providing 3 phase 24KVA is a great size for what we require. I have used it on quite a few small to medium sized events now and am very happy with the performance. The Bio diesel aspect involves extra work, filters have to be changed more often, and quality fuel has to be used, but the feeling that you are helping reduce your carbon footprint, and are not wafting highly carcinogenic derv fumes all over the audience is great, there are other pro's such as less engine wear, lower fuel storage risks, spillages are less dangerous and wont kill the grass, and the smell is actually quite pleasant! It outputs from a 32Amp socket and has an amp meter on each of the three phases, as well as all the usual protection, and a big red stop switch. The most exciting thing to happen while using it so far has to be powering a Tesla lightning machine!
So if you want to use a generator with a clear conscience, give us a ring to check availability, the basic cost is £75.00 per day excluding fuel delivery and VAT. http://vegen.co.uk/

Sappire Rapidfold projection screen review

I have done 12 jobs with my 4X3 Meter Sappire Rapidfold projection screen, armed with a Remington 3000 Watt hairdryer for cold (out of the van on a frosty morn) installation, it takes very little time for two people to erect, its pretty standard fair as far as fastfold screens go, but what I like is the way the frame goes together, there are flush fitted buttons to allow folding of hinges, which when you are in a hurry are great, there is also a whopping great flightcase with it and nice cloth bags to put the screen away in.
We have created a solid foamex base for ours, it is suspended from the sides and base of the frame, with 4 screws and a Velcro fitting, giving a solid clean look unlike the old style punch and Judy curtains! currently covered with magenta vinyl and clients logo, pictured below with matching lectern, interested in us building one for you? call for details, 01423-549091. All in all at the price they are, about 70% of the cost of the competition, I cant complain, well done Sappire. please call for the current price.

Off down to Plymouth to do the most southerly leg of our roadshow tomorrow, weather is looking a bit grim, and its 330 odd miles, should be fun, then on to one of my fav British city's....Bristol, 22 years ago I lived there for a year or so, very interesting times, it will be good to see how the place has changed.
My first real PA Hire started there, I had a big studio and used to set the PA up when it wasn't out on hire and Jam into the night, as it was a fair distance from any domestic dwellings it meant no complaints.
The PA consisted of a Wem passive 3 way rig which could handle a stunning 500Watts, not sure where it ended up but it did loads of house party's etc, the Studiomaster mixing desk was pretty horrible, and I didn't miss it one bit when some kind soul knicked it, we had a lot of fun, and I often wonder what of the freinds I made there. So, Southbound again, no Guitar this time though!

RevoStage® review

Revostage, another wonderful British product, we have purchased a few decks and took them out on a job last week, its great, three components, Top deck 18Kg, Risers 1' 9Kg and curtain, we plumped for the carpet top, there is also a rubbertop version, it takes about as long to get it out of the box as it does to put it up......unfold the riser (one man job!) put on top, tighten with 4 Allen screws, fit curtain just pops into the groove, then build next one and Allen screw them together. Ideal for a one man operation as one can carry it about on your own, and having built it when the client decides it needs moving, one man can drag 3-4 pieces in to position. RevoStage® has been independently weight tested to 1500kg per m² at 2.4 metres high. We would be happy to supply if you wish to hire or buy, full details-http://www.revostage.co.uk/ prices POA
